a preview of an upcoming game or game related item

While Watch_Dogs may have its faults and doesn’t  quite live up to its hype, it’s still a damn fun game.  One of the most fun parts about it are its quirky side-missions and the “Virtual Trip” games which are… just… ridiculous.  One of which, and my person favorite is the Spider-Tank.  Yeah, you read that right.  A giant Spider-shaped TANK that you destroy shit with.

I recorded a full playthrough with a maxed out ST.  ENJOY!

Steam In-Home Streaming Preview

SteamStreamSteam has really been swinging for the fences as of late, some swings have been homeruns (Summer sales, linux & mac support, family sharing) while some have been long flyers that eventually foul out (I’m looking squarely at you, Early Access,) and some are still in beta and have yet to be fully realized such as SteamOS and In-home Steaming.  Since I don’t want to bother wiping one of my computers to install SteamOS, which in and of itself is limited to what games it supports I decided to give the In-home Streaming a shot.

TitanFall PC Impressions

Well, I was able to snag a Titanfall beta code…about a day before they just opened it up to everybody. But, that is usually how it goes now doesn’t it?  I figured I would give my initial impressions as a level 7, indicating I’ve played for a few hours at least.  It’s hard to cram all the time I want into the game given my life schedule, but I’m trying.  The first thing I’m reminded of while playing this is Call of Duty, which is fitting given the studio behind this game was started by the former head of Infinity Ward, the studio that arguably brought CoD into the forefront with the first Modern Warfare.  But enough about that, let’s dig into Titanfall and how it feel on the PC?

God of War 3 Demo impressions

image1760217387.jpgAs many may know. District 9 releases today. If you are a ps3 owner. There is Zero reason not to get the blu-Ray version. You have even less than zero reason actually because with the blu-Ray version comes a copy of the E3 God of War 3 Demo. Being an insominac I picked up District 9 already and have run through GOW3 a couple times and will now preview the demo. And after having to sit through a 13-minute install process. Here we go.

The demo intros onto a cliff cobble road where villagers are being run after be demon/undead soldiers. This is where you take control of Kratos. Controls are pretty identical to the other GOW games. Triangle is heavy attack. Square is light attack. Circle is grapple. X is jump. Left stick controls kratos while the right makes him dodge.

Presentation so far. As far as a demo can present. It reminded me ALOT of the others. Much to the point that I, for a second, thought it was just an updated version of the PSP copy! But. Yon some play. That feeling changed. While it does feel extremely similar. Graphically it is far superior. The lighting is good, textures are cery detailed, the amount of gore is grand!, Which you would expect from a next-gen title. In the demo. You get 3 weapons and a head. Yeah. A head. Which lights a path and reveals secret areas.

The weapons in the demo are. Of course. His chained blades. A bow. And a set of giant metal gaunlets. So far. The blades feel pretty much the same. Same combos. The gauntlets don’t feel feel as useful. Far too slow. And don’t seem to do enough damage for the speed trade off.

Another new play element portrayed in the demo is the use of grappling. Sure “throws” where present in the others. But grappling is a different story. You can grab guys and use them as battering rams. You can grapple from a distant. Etc. Very useful.

All in all. Fans will love it. From the impression I get from the demo. People who didn’t like the first 2 for whatever reason. Won’t like this one. It feels very similar to the other games and, from the demo, again. Doesn’t seem like it will offer any innovative new gameplay.

To summarize. Fans will LOVE this. People who didn’t like the other games probably won’t find much new in this one to change there mind. I for one. Can’t wait to play the real deal

DotA 2 on the way

What is DotA you ask? DotA (Defense of the Ancients) was a Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne map developed by a player called IceFrog, that consisted of Hero classes only. Basically you had 3 lanes that would shoot small gangs of NPC’s down them and you had to defend your base against them, and the opposing player Heros. Pretty simple yeah? DotA seemed to be a game primarily played in the Oceanic realm until recently, when the US picked it up.

With the amount of players and Warcraft 3 being old and having inferior graphics to todays standards, Riot Games began developing the next chapter, League of Legends.
