Facebook on Live and PS3

image390862226.jpgOn Tuesday. xbox 360 owners recieved an update that added a few new additions to there 360. Twitter, Last.fm, Zune Marketplace. And Facebook. Well, Today, if the update hasn’t rolled out already. Then a little later today, Playstation 3 owners will get at least one of those same things. FacebookI called social network intergration earlier this year. Saying. “although not neccessary or entirely useable. I see it happening.”Well. Here it is. How does everyone feel about it so far?

Borderlands = Epic Win

image1880068940.jpgWell well, look at this. When the great Mirrors Edge and the even better Dead Space where released last year to slow, lukewarm sales and average reviews. It was speculated that original IP’s where unwanted. Even though the gaming community where buzzing and clamouring for these games. And new game in general. It’s nice to see that a good, original IP is making waves. Gearbox, developer of Borderlands says that the new IP is the fastest selling new IP of 2009. While PC number haven’t been released. Console numbers for the game have broke the millions which is a nice start. Gearbox has already said a sequel is a no brainer. They are also set to release “Zombie Island of Dr.Ned” is the coming weeks for PS3 and 360. And a PC release will follow after that. With at least one more DLC next year probably.

DJ Hero DLC is ‘spensive

image1421456749.jpgYeah. Just boot up your Wii60 or PS3 and take a gander at the prices. While Guitar Hero and Rock Band tracks range from 1-2 dollars. dJ Hero only sells songs in 2 packs at 5.99 to 7.99 range. That’s a hefty increase. I know exactly why too. They have to pay for 2 songs to make one through mash-ups and hire someone to do it. But. Still. As a customer. That’s a bit too high forMy blood.

Buy District 9 on Blu-Ray. Get GOW3 Demo

image84174180.jpgShackNews posted a little bit of interesting info about the Blu-Ray copy of District 9 set for release on Dec. 28th. If you buy the blu-Ray copy. It will come with the God of War 3 demo. Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. Especially when you consider the game isn’t set to release until March! W00T

N4L: DLConsperacy

nxe_marketplace_011-1024x576With the rise of high-speed interconnection in today’s consoles. We’ve been given a theoretical unlimited amount of play to our favorite games. Not only can we get new cars in racers, but whole new adventures in other games. New weapons. Even overall enhancement in the form of better visuals, audio, and better controls. Along those lines. We’re also given a quick and easy way of renting or buying movies to watch instantly from our homes. And even now, we are getting the chance to buy full games from the comfort of our couches. We can then send friends a message and invite them to watch the movie we just bought or rented and chat with them while watching it. All from our cozy homes. Truly. This generation of gaming has made the biggest leap technologically speaking. Other systems may have tried these forms of Internet connectability (Genesis X-Band, Dreamcast. PS2). But they never reached the always on, always connected feel and ease of use that the newest systems have today. The ability to download demos, themes, music, movies, updates for games, enhancements, add-ons. Etc etc. The list goes on. All this is at a price though… How much are you willing to spend? How much as you willing to give up?

The Who gets own Rock Band Game?….

image739330683.jpgSo… Leader singer of the Who, Roger Daltrey let it slip during an interview that Harmonix will be releasing a Who:Rock Band. Woopity fucking doo…Ok, I am starting to have an issue with this. Beatles was cool. I’m glad they got a respectable treatment from the kings of music games. But The Who? Yeah there legends as well, but… Enough if the band specific games. I slammed Activision for pulling this crap and I’ll slam Harmonix for it too. The Who have alteady had Rock Band DLC. why not just have more? Whatever. Harmonix. Just say no.
