Review: Fast RMX

F-Zero’s spiritual successor has arrived

While looking through the severally anemic launch line-up for the Switch on its eStore front (no, seriously there are a total of 17 games to choose from and you’ve probably bought 2 of those already and own a couple more of the re-releases.) I came across a new game called FAST rmx.  Not the most interesting name, but the game itself was VERY reminiscent of a couple of future racing titles I loved as a youngster…

Does this live up to those pedigree?

Review: Zelda-Breath of the Wild

Full disclosure: I ain’t really the biggest Zelda fan.  There, I said it.  Not Sorry.  The stories are never all that interesting, save for a couple games, the gameplay favors “Go figure it out” a bit too much for my liking, and I’ve just been unable to get into any of them since Wind Waker, which for whatever reason really resonated with me.  So, I may not be the best person to review this game…

…Or maybe I’m the right person and could be seen as a sampling of a much broader audience in which this Zelda finally reaches?

Console sales slipping, but it probably isn’t what you think

Have you read the news from other sites about the slipping sales of consoles and console games?  Probably saw a bunch of quotes from those sites stating how a bunch of people who play games are just tired of randomly shooting people in the face without a deeper reason for shooting them in the face, right?  “Who is this man who’s thought processing meats I’m forcing a close encounter with the lead from my gun?” They most be contemplating to themselves philosophically….

…That’s bullshit, by the way, that isn’t the reason console sales are down and I don’t think it’s really that complex either.

PCGamer: Comparing Apples to Grenades

Man, click bait is great, isn’t it? I mean… you apply an outlandish headline to a boring post which some could even say is just an advertisement, and boom.. REVENUE!  It’s so easy when you lose journalistic integrity…

…we aren’t there quite yet or else I would have titled this something like “You’ll be shocked to learn what PCGamer was caught doing!”

I mean, I’m gonna bold that up there for effect, but I won’t make it the headline, I’m not a monster.

VRR: HTC Vive accessories

Hello everyone, hope the new year is treating you blah blah blah, let’s get the pleasantries out of the way.

“How’s the offpsring?”
Don’t care.  Great.  On with it!

Over christmas hiatus I received a few accessories for the HTC Vive that I thought could use a bit of reviewing, what with the newness of the device and increase in accessories for said device.  These are just a few little things that I’d like to express my opinion about.  Please note: MY OPINION!  While I will articulate my thoughts and reasonings to the best of my ability to showcase why I have come to a particular conclusion it is, again, just my opinion and if your opinion differs let us know why. Please and thank you!

NoClip’s Doom Documentary. WATCH IT!

While it’s been out for almost a week now, It’s clear not a whole lot of people have seen the free documentary funded by their Patreon about Doom titled “Doom Resurrected.” as it’s only at about 500K views on Youtube.  It’s a three part film and absolutely worth the watch as the writer/narrator/interviewer goes into id Software studios and talks with the developers of DOOM 2016, how it came about, what happened to DOOM 4 (yeah, remember that? it was a thing) which was scraped and how the music and story came about.  It’s very interesting to see how they used bits of DOOM 4 and how last minute the story of the game was, which is so undertone and subtle that it actually drives the game home for a lot of the players and actually builds the Doomslayer into the best silent protagonist in gaming today.

Linking the first installment, but go check out the Youtube page, hit the subscribe button, show them some love and likes and… and all those positive things.
